Patrick McGuigan is a cheese writer, educator and presenter, who has travelled from the Swiss Alps to the pastures of Vermont to interview the world's best cheesemakers, maturers and cheesemongers.

He writes extensively on the subject for national newspapers and magazines, such as The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The Financial Times and delicious. He also provides cheese analysis and insights on radio and TV, including BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme, Times Radio and Channel 5. 

He is the author of three books: The Philosophy of Cheese, published by The British Library; The Cheese Life, co-authored with Mathew Carver; and One Cheese to Rule Them All, co-written with Carlos Yescas.

Patrick is an experienced presenter and moderator. He has presented events including the World Cheese Awards in Switzerland, Affineur of the Year in London and the European Farmhouse and Artisan Cheese conference in Oslo. He is also an advisor to the EU’s More Than Only Food & Drink campaign.

As well as hosting regular cheese talks, tastings and events for corporate and public events, Patrick teaches cheese courses, including cheese retail training at the Guild of Fine Food and the Academy of Cheese Level 1 and 2 accreditations. He also provides bespoke training and consultancy for food and drink companies.

He achieved the WSET Level 3 wine qualification with Merit in 2021 and the French Wine Scholar accreditation with highest honours in 2023.
